XXVI Illes Balears Classics Regatta is taking place in the Club de Mar-Mallorca between the 11th and 14th of August 2021.
The Regatta was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19. It was replaced by a one-day local regatta.
This competition is open to Vintage Boats, Classic Boats and Spirit of Tradition Boats (EDT). There will also be room with separate classifications, for the so-called “Big Boats”, vessels over 23 m in length, and the International Class 15 M.
World Sailing Racing Rules and the rules of the International Committee of the Mediterranean, the institution that governs regattas and measurements of classic boats, will be in force. If circumstances do not prevent it, the AR establishes that three races may be held, on August 12, 13 and 14, with coastal courses of between 11 and 18 miles.
The Illes Balears Clàssics Regatta will be valid for the X Mare Nostrum Clásicos Trophy, together with the classic boat regattas of Puerto Sherry, Barcelona and Mahón. The competition organized by the Club de Mar-Mallorca will also be part of the first Spanish Cup of Classic Yachts organized by the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation.
The absolute winner of the regatta will receive the Club de Mar Trophy. The first classified boat built in Mallorca will be awarded the Pedro Cardona trophy and also, under the decision of a jury, the winner of the Leyendas del Mar Trophy will be chosen. Moreover, the V Centennial Trophy that commemorates the five hundred years of the first sailing around the world completed by Juan Sebastián de Elcano will be awarded.
