1892: Designed by Nathanael Herreshoff, built in 1892.
1983: A Parisian notary, Patrick Remme, found the yacht in Italy in a very poor condition under the name Natanthal. He brought her to Hyères in France for a full restoration. The renovation was completed in 1983, and he renamed her Archangelo.
1990s: Later, the boat was owned by Joel Dressel, captain of the schooner América belonging to Ramón Mendoza, who commissioned a major restoration from Astilleros Mallorca. The boat was then registered under a new name, La Brillanta, in honor of the moon, according to her current owner.
Eventually, the schooner was acquired by a young Italian, Nicola Calderoni, who brought her to Pollença.
1995: Big refit: new teak deck, replacement of mainmast, booms, gaffs, stainless steel standing rigging, complete new set of sails of Vela 2000.
1995: La Brillanta was awarded the „Best Restored Yacht“ – „XI Trofeo Almirante Conde de Barcelona“.
1997: New sail covers, awnings and other covers, Plastimo stainless 2burner/oven gas stove, 12 vdc refrigerator.
2007: Her current owner purchased her, registered her in Spain, and restored her original name, Archangelo.
2007 onward: Archangelo is a companion at sea and a setting for family life. The owner‘s grandchildren learned to sail aboard her, participating as crew in classic regattas, such as the Illes Balears Classic, for example.
This timeline highlights key ownership changes and significant refit milestones that have preserved Archangelo’s historic integrity and racing competitiveness.
Archangelo‘s open interior layout invites you in through the stern, where the chart table and galley form the welcoming heart of the yacht— a space where navigation, cooking, and conversation blend naturally as part of life at sea.
The engine sits discreetly beneath the companionway steps, leaving the interior beautifully calm and uncluttered.
Aft, Archangelo features two cozy single berths—one to port and one to starboard—for guests or crew.
To port, the chart table feels like a captain’s corner: practical, intimate, and full of classic charm.
To starboard, the galley is thoughtfully arranged, with everything within comfortable reach for preparing meals underway or at anchor.
At the other side of the galley is the head, equipped with a toilet, sink, shower, and mirror, offering practicality without sacrificing the traditional ambiance.
Amidships lies her bright saloon. Two long sofas to port and starboard create the perfect setting for relaxing, or sharing stories after a day under sail. Generous storage beneath the seating keeps the space open and airy.
The forward full-beam owners double berth offers quiet comfort and a gentle reminder of why yachts like Archangelo inspire such enduring devotion.

Archangelo has an outstanding rating certificate, which is why the yacht is perfect for regattas.
